Project Engineer

Where will you be working?

For our terminals, we are looking for a Project Engineer who is responsible for preparing and executing projects at (one of) the Chane Terminals. You will work in a diverse, dynamic environment on new construction, reconstruction and major maintenance of storage, transhipment and process installations. In addition, you will contribute to the organizational development of Chane's Technical Director. The Project Engineer reports to the Project Manager.

Representative activities

  • Under the supervision of a project manager, prepare subprojects (engineering, planning, contracts) and execute them (construction, commissioning).
  • Prepare and execute projects independently. You draw up the project plan and direct the implementation. You are responsible for the safety performance, progress, quality and cost control on your project and its reporting.
  • Setting up and maintaining Koole's five-year Maintenance Plan for the maintenance projects.
  • In all these tasks, you will work closely with the Operations, Engineering, Contracts & Procurement, etc. departments.

Requirements

  • You are a result-oriented, analytical self-starter with a focus on safety who can distinguish main issues from side issues;
  • A demonstrable organizational and problem-solving ability;
  • A completed study (Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering) at least at HBO level;
  • Several years of (project management) experience on projects in the chemical and/or oil & gas sectors; industry is recommended;
  • A good command of the Dutch and English language, both verbally and in writing;
  • Leadership and project management skills. A clear communication style, both verbally and in writing;
  • You are enthusiastic, self-confident, have an open attitude and are both internally focused on colleagues and externally on clients;
  • You will be involved end-to-end in projects that take place at one of the Koole terminals.
