Where will you be working?

As an environmental coordinator at Chane Terminals, you are the point of contact and the specialist at the terminal in the field of the environment. You know better than anyone how to inform your colleagues and make them (more) aware of this subject. You know everything about relevant (environmental) permits and laws and regulations, and you maintain contacts with permit issuers and enforcers.

You will be part of the HSEQ team at the terminal and report to the HSEQ manager. In addition to all the environment-related issues, you will also work on quality or safety-related topics.

Representative activities

  • You are responsible for drawing up and supervising permit applications (e.g. WABO, Water Act) in a timely manner.
  • You are responsible for the operational translation and implementation of (changes in) permit regulations and general requirements from relevant laws and regulations.
  • You draw up reports, such as the annual environmental report and energy report, and coordinate the necessary external verification thereof.
  • You coordinate the execution and follow-up of required environmental studies.
  • You monitor environmental emissions, you are the one who identifies deviations and you advise on measures to be taken, whether solicited or unsolicited.
  • You come up with proposals for continuous improvement of the (environmental) performance of the terminal.
  • You are responsible for the management of soil files.
  • You will stay informed of relevant developments within the field.
  • You maintain contacts with the competent authority, such as the Environment Agency, Rijkswaterstaat, and Water Board.
  • As a knowledge bearer of the subject of the environment, you help to bring the organization to a higher level, for example through training.

Requirements

  • You are energetic and solution-oriented and can work well independently; In addition, in this role it is important to be accurate and you must enjoy communicating clearly not only verbally but also in writing;
  • You have a HBO/WO level of thinking and have a relevant education for the field (environment, process technology or other relevant direction);
  • You have at least 5 years of experience in the field;
  • You have knowledge of environmental policy/environmental law;
  • You enjoy working within an entrepreneurial company and use your expertise to provide input to projects that contribute to the energy transition.
